Whether you’re looking for a sporty ride or a more leisurely one, Thuringia has something for everyone. Around 1,700km of cycle paths crisscross the Free State. The Gera Cycle Path, which runs along the river from the Rennsteig to the Unstrut, passes right by the hotel. Follow in the footsteps of Martin Luther and Johann Sebastian Bach and cycle down the valley from Arnstadt toward Erfurt. The 75km route is rated easy to moderate and mostly follows paved paths. The Gera Cycle Path also leads to the Thuringian Cities Chain Cycle Path, which connects Thuringia’s largest cities from Eisenach to Gera, as well as the Rennsteig Cycle Path, the challenging cycle route along the famous high-altitude hiking trail.
