Otto Knöpfer is regarded as one of Thuringia’s most important landscape painters and as the painter of the Three Equals Landscape. He wandered countless times along the path named after him. In his honor, the old small farmer’s house in Holzhausen was renovated and turned into an information, exhibition and meeting place. The “Malerweg” runs most of the time through protected landscape areas and guarantees a wonderful view of the Three Identical Castles landscape.
